SOS Emergency call box system over IP

The emergency call system over IP allows voice and control data communications between the roadside emergency call boxes and the Control Center where the emergency calls are received and the whole system is managed. Voice and data are transported over an IP network using standard protocols TCP/IP, UDP/IP and VoIP. SOS emergency call box is phisically connected by means of 10BASE-T to a switch that belongs to the transport backbone towards the Control Center. The call boxes therefore do not need a dedicated IP network since they are connected to the same backbone as other equipments in the road or tunnel.
